2009-12-23

[Dubai, 15 December 2009] Drake & Scull International PJSC (DSI) has formed a strategic alliance with Assyce Group to develop alternate energy products for the telecom sector in the Middle East and Africa  .Assyce Group is an established Spanish company  providing specialist solutions in the field of renewable and sustainable energyThe alliance has been agreed based on the two companies’ recent activities in the development of a grid-free telecom solution and will focus on expanding the portfolio of products through custom-made value engineered solutions. DSI is focussing on an initial prototype for the telecom sector which will be ready in the first quarter 2010. The details of the product, which involves a hybrid, “flexible” solution to cater for varying market needs, are expected to be circulated to potential customers at the future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi in January.. DSI Infrastructure Water & Power Executive Director Tawfiq Abu Soud said that the company’s continued diversification into new areas is an important part of their business as it aligns with their strategy. “With Green Energy becoming an important part of the future for our communities, this is an area of focus as we continue to expand our operations.” “We are very enthusiastic about our newly formed alliance and DSI is actively looking to secure projects related to Alternate Power in this region. This initial agreement will focus on telecoms, however we do intend to expand this into other areas of the business.” “With the environmental focus increasing and customers looking to “go green”, DSI recognises the long term potential and need to address this market. The alliance provides DSI with access to the wide range of products and technical services which Assyce provide including industrial and domestic solar applications, water and waste management.” Assyce Group CEO, Cesar Finana, adds that as governments, industries and individuals have started to realize the true value of Green Energy, its speedy development and implementation within markets has taken on a larger role in every day applications. “We have high expectations of this alliance and are very excited to join forces with DSI,” he said. “Combining our companies’ diversified knowhow, geographical presence, capabilities and vast experience in Green Energy MEP and Telecom enables us to effectively serve our markets and the ongoing drive to establish sustainable resources and infrastructure.” DSI is a leading UAE-based end-to-end service provider of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contracting, water, power and telecommunication solutions and civil contracting services. On March 16 2009, DSI became the first specialist contracting company to list on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM)
