Wataniya Palestine Telecom (WPT) gets the Israeli approval for granting the frequencies to launch its services.

Allen Richardson the general manager of the WPT ( Wataniya Mobile ) the second mobile operator in the Palestinian territories, announced that the company had been notified with the Israeli approval to be granted the frequencies to start launching its services. Richardson said in a press interview "we had been told that the Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert notified the president Mahmoud Abbas that a specialized frequincies for WPT will be granted for the Palestinian Authority".  He also added "the decision is political, but we don"t know the amount that we will get and when". The company needs 5-6 months period from the moment it gets the frequencies until it will be able to start launching the services, although Richardson said "there are other obstacles may front WPT such as the insertion of the equipments through the Israeli harbors.
