PMA : Banking assets exceed USD 8 billion last January

banks operating in the Palestinian achieved  a remarkable development, where the banks indices during of January 2010 demonstrate an increase of net assets about USD 123 million (1.56%) which exceeded USD 8 billion level for the first time, an increase of 7.68% from same month last year. PMA in a report released yesterday, about the banking system  performance  clarified that the total deposits rose during the January by 1.73%, in conjunction with the major increased of customer deposits by 2.35%, a sign that the increasing rates from the same period last year amounted to 8.03% and 11.72%, bringing the total deposits at the end of January of this year to about USD 6,792 million and customer deposits to about USD 6,433 million
