Listed companies in the PSE convene their board of directors meetings

Palestine Securities Exchange Published on its website a group of listed companies news, in which listed companies disclose to the market and the CMA in parallel due to the disclosure system. Arab Hotels held its General Assembly meeting last week; the meeting discussed the results of the fiscal year 2008 in Movenpick Hotel - Ramallah, in the presence of the Companies Controller Nezam Ayoub, and representatives of the PSE and CMA. The meeting was to approve all subjects that are usually included on the regular assembly meeting, including approval of financial statements for the year 2008, and ratified the board"s decision to appoint new board members instead of resigning members. By this meeting, all listed companies in the market had held its 2009 general ordinary assemblies for the year ended in 2008, and 3 suspended companies had lagged behind. The Palestinian Islamic Bank held last week, two meetings for its Board of Directors in Amman , the two meetings discussed a number of issues including: the approval to increase the bank"s capital to $ 50 million in line with the requirements of the Palestinian Monetary Authority, and approved the purchase of a permanent headquarters for the general management department and  Ramallah branch, the meeting  also discussed and ratified the results of the sub-committees of board of directors without naming these committees. The Board approved the results of the restructuring, and discussed the budget estimates for 2010, and adopted business continuity plan and job description.  Vegetable oils industries held it board of Directors meeting last week, without taking any important decisions affecting the stock price, as stated in the letter of the company"s disclosure about its meeting. The board of directors meeting also discussed the development of the company"s position and the estimated budget for 2010, also discussed the company"s position in its subsidiaries and affiliates. Globalcom held its board of directors meeting, without taking any decisions affecting the stock price as reported in their letter to the market, and discussed number of issues that were presented in the company"s letter including management reports, and approved the renewal of (VOIP) license, and its achievements in the technical fields, and the adoption of a legal adviser under the given offers, and of Vice- Chairman proposals. Arab investors held is Board of Directors meeting without taking important decisions that affect the stock price, as stated in the letter of the company"s disclosure about the meeting. The Board discussed the company"s financial situation and other issues not identified by the company. Jerusalem Cigarettes held its board of Directors meeting last week, without taking any important decisions affecting the stock price, as stated in the letter of the company"s disclosure about the meeting. The board discussed its annual bonuses to board members and staff and workers for the year 2009, and other topics that had not been identified the company. Palestine Investment and Development held its board of Directors meeting last Wednesday, without taking decisions that affect the stock price, as stated in the letter of the company"s disclosure about the meeting. The Board discussed at the meeting the "Al Mostaqbal schools" subject and other things that had not been identified by the company. Birzeit Pharmaceuticals determined the board of director meeting  to be held in January 18, and the meeting will discuss a number of issues attached to the agenda. Birzeit Pharmaceuticals will be the first listed company that determines the timing of its first meeting of its board of directors this year.
