Ramallah – Al Balad press - The Association of Banks in Palestine held a meeting with the Ministry of Finance at its headquarters in the city yesterday, to discuss issues of concern to the banking sector. The meeting was attended by Mona Al Masri the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance, Mazen Abu Hamdan the Chairman of the association, Nabil Abu Diab the representative of the Palestinian Monetary Authority and Directors and Regional Managers of the banks operating in Palestine Ali Faroan. The attendance had discussed a range of issues of concern to the Palestinian banking sector, including instructions of income tax related to the banking sector, specifically the subject of outstanding allowances and interests, where the attendance suggested that there should be coordination between the Ministry of Finance and the Monetary Authority and the banks association, taking into account the interests of all parties. Other issues discussed in the meeting, was the subject of transfer right, where the association had held earlier this year several meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Finance to reissue the right of transfer that was stopped by the Ministry in the year end of 2007.
