Al-Quds Index declines with the start of October

With the beginning of October, Al-Quds Index witnessed a decline of 0.54% than the previous week, closing at the level of 705.93 points after trading in a relatively narrow range. While the blue-chips stood-still without a significant change than the previous week. Where the performance of one share didn’t exceed any other, while the normal trading were characterized with scarceness. However, with the start of this month, the leading companies entered the legal period granted to disclose their financial data for the first nine months of 2026. Whereby, Palestine Stock Exchange PEX grants the listed companies 45 days from the start of October, to disclose their financial and operational data for Q3 2026.

Regarding the economic indicators and according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics PCBS, Palestine's Gross Domestic Product GDP declined by 1% during the second quarter of 2026 compared to the second quarter of 2025 due to the repercussion of the Israeli aggression against Palestine, and driven by a 4% decline in the West Bank economy. Most of economic activities recorded a decline in value-added in Palestine, as agriculture, forestry and fishing activity decline by 15%, financial activity by 13%, construction activity declined by 6%, mining, manufacturing, electricity and water activity by 3%, whereas the GDP for the 2nd quarter of 2026 was USD 2,860 million for the West Bank and USD 152 million for the Gaza Strip.

However, GDP per Capita for Palestine was USD 552 during the 2nd quarter of 2026, which showed a decrease of 3% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2025.  As for the West Bank, it showed a decrease of 6% compared to the same period, While for Gaza Strip showed an increase of 105% compared to the same period.
