In the first week of August, the general performance of Palestine Stock Exchange PEX was relatively conservative amid relatively weak trading that lacked any momentum and executing institutional transactions that may raise the trading value in the PEX from time to time. On the other hand, Al-Quds Index closed in the green zone, recording 655.47 points; up by 1.10% than the previous week after trading in a relatively narrow range. Regarding the blue-chips, most of them witnessed increase in their prices than the previous week. However, with H1 2026 financial data disclosures acceleration, the anticipation for the semi-annual financial data continues to be the most dominating factor on the PEX in this period.
Regarding the economic indicators and according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics PCBS, the overall Industrial Production Index IPI in Palestine reached 82.89 during June 2026 with an increase of 9.37% compared to May 2026 (Base Year 2019). IPI for June 2026 increased due to the increase in the activities of mining and quarrying by 13.31%, which had a share of 2.89% of the total industry, the activities of manufacturing industry by 9.58%, which had a share of 87.89% of the total industry, the activities of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 7.57%, which had a share of 7.38% of the total industry, and the activities of water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation by 6.21%, which had a share of 1.84% of the total industry.
Regarding the economic indicators and according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics PCBS as well, the overall Producer Price Index (PPI) for Palestine with its base year (2019) reached 187.13 in June 2026, as it decreased sharply by 7.22% compared to May 2026. The changes of PPI for June 2026 were traced back to decline in prices of the following major activities compared to the previous month: Agriculture, forestry and fishing by - 11.57%, manufacturing by - 1.10% and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by - 0.30%. On the other hand, an increase by 1.40% in the prices of water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities was witnessed, while the prices of mining and quarrying had no change.
