The first quarter financial report which is the first that prepared by the Ministry of Finance after completing building the financial system for the PNA, had been published on its website and indicated that the public budget registered a current deficit amounted $317 million in the first three months of 2008, and after taking into consideration the aids that received from the international community that reached $526 million, it had earned a surplus of $209 million. The Ministry anticipated an increase of the current deficit in the second quarter and stability in remaining of the year and most likely to remain within the deficit limits that is estimated in the current year budget that amounted $1.36 billion. The report indicated deficit coverage by huge foreign aids ($526 million), the largest amount was by European Union that participated by $180 million and followed by the Arab aid especially from Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates that donated $153 million, and the USA that had given $152 million.
