Medium liquidity levels amid anticipation for the year’s closure

No substantial news in Palestine Stock Exchange PEX arose in this week that may support a certain price trend. The general situation is still associated to the local political and economic anticipations. With the approaching end of the current year 2018, Al-Quds Index ended the week at the level of 524.80 points; up by 0.02% than its previous closing level. On the other side, the anticipation increases for the coming days that coincide with the last days of the year, to crown the results of the whole year. Historically and routinely, the last days of the year is characterized with movements regarding the liquidity through executing transactions, in order to affect the investment evaluation. However, regarding the liquidity levels this week, the PEX witnessed medium liquidity levels, following trading 1.80 million shares that worth $4.10 million.

Regarding this week’s trading, Arab Palestinian Investment Company APIC topped the PEX this week after executing a million shares transaction on its stocks, to close at the level of $2.33; up by 1.30% than its previous weekly closing level, when its transactions contributed for 57.92% from PEX’s total trading value. Followed by the stock of the largest bank by market capitalization – Bank of Palestine BOP-, to stabilize at the level of $2.30, without any change than its previous weekly closing level, when its transactions contributed for 13.43% from PEX’s total trading value after executing a transaction on its shares through the week. Moreover, regarding the stock of the largest company by market capitalization – Palestine Telecommunication PALTEL -, it closed at the level of JD4.28; down by 0.47% than its previous weekly closing level. When its transactions contributed for 7.45% from PEX’s total trading value. Also, regarding the stock of the largest investment company by market capitalization – Palestine Development and Investment Company PADICO - it closed at the level of $1.26; down by 1.56% than its previous weekly closing level. When its transactions contributed for 0.96% from PEX’s total trading value.

Regarding the Board of Directors BOD meetings, The BOD of Golden Wheat Mills Company GMC will be holding a meeting on 23/12/2018, whereby, will discuss the financial results as for 30/11/2018. However, the BOD of Palestine Real Estate Investment Company PRICO will be holding its BOD on 24/12/2018, to discuss the estimated financial budget for 2019. On the same date, the BOD of The Vegetable Oil Industries Company VOIC will be holding its meeting, to discuss the financial results as for 30/11/2018. Moreover, on 27/12/2018, the BOD of Al Shark Electrode Company ELECTRODE will be holding its meeting.
